💨 Abstract
In 2025, the definition of being a millionaire is changing. As many as one-tenth of American adults have joined the ranks of millionaires, thanks largely to rising home values and the stock market. The number of American millionaires has nearly increased 15-fold over the past 30 years. Although individuals like Heidi Barley have reached this milestone, a $1 million net worth is no longer a ticket to luxury living, experts say.
