💨 Abstract
The D.C. area job market is becoming more competitive due to layoffs in federal agencies and an influx of new college graduates. Traditionally, about 70% of University of Maryland College Park graduates find their first job in the region, but this year may be different. Allynn Powell, director of the University of Maryland’s Career Center, advises graduates to expand their job search beyond the immediate area and to effectively communicate their skills and experiences.
