💨 Abstract
The Baltimore-Washington Superconducting Magnetic Levitation (SCMAGLEV) project, also known as the maglev, has been officially terminated due to its substantial cost overruns, delays, and negative impacts on federal properties and missions. The U.S. Department of Transportation, led by Secretary Sean P. Duffy, cited inadequate planning and execution as reasons for halting the $20 billion project.
