💨 Abstract
San Diego Padres rookie Ryan Bergert exited Tuesday's game against the Washington Nationals after being struck on his pitching elbow by a 103-mph line drive. Though Bergert initially tried to throw to first, he was eventually replaced by Adrian Morejon. Bergert, who had a 1-0 record and 1.88 ERA, was making his fifth big-league start. James Wood later drove in a run to widen the Nationals' lead.
