💨 Abstract
Montgomery County has introduced a 420-pound security robot, "Parker," in a pilot program aimed at enhancing parking garage security. The robot, made by Knightscope, can detect people, read license plates, and conduct thermal scans, but it's currently in a testing phase and not yet operational. The county is assessing its capabilities and navigating questions about privacy and data storage. A public demonstration and input opportunities are planned.
