💨 Abstract

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government narrowly avoided dissolution as most of his ultra-Orthodox coalition partners voted against a bill mandating their military service during war. This vote stabilizes his coalition for at least six months. The ultra-Orthodox parties, who historically receive military exemptions, opposed the bill. Despite public anger, only two ultra-Orthodox members of the Knesset supported the bill. discussions continue on a new draft law.
