💨 Abstract
A false alarm at Walter Reed Medical Center led to a lockdown on July 31, 2025, after reports of an active shooter. A man with a fake gun was quickly apprehended, and no one was injured. The lockdown lasted about half an hour, clearing both buildings and reopening the base shortly after. Montgomery County police confirmed there is no threat to the public.
