💨 Abstract
The African Development Bank has elected 60-year-old Mauritanian economist Sidi Ould Tah as its next president. Tah won with 76.18% of the vote and will take office on September 1, succeeding Nigeria’s Akinwumi Adesina. The election, involving five candidates, occurred during the bank’s annual meetings in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, amid economic challenges and funding cuts.
