💨 Abstract
Scientists have discovered a previously unknown group of ancient hunter-gatherers who lived in the Bogotá region around 6,000 years ago. This group is distinct from known ancient North and South American populations. The findings, published in "Science Advances," suggest that these people lived near the land bridge connecting the Americas. Their disappearance around 4,000 years ago remains a mystery, with researchers unsure if they assimilated into new groups or were displaced.
