A chlorine leak occurred at a chemical plant in Freeport, Texas, owned by Olin Corp., at around 9 a.m. on Tuesday. The leak prompted shelter-in-place orders for residents in nearby Clute and Lake Jackson. Authorities reported the leak was stopped by 9:45 a.m. and the shelter-in-place request was lifted by 10:40 a.m. There were no immediate reports of injuries, and the plant confirmed the leak was contained.
