💨 Abstract
A federal judge dismissed part of a lawsuit against Farmington, New Mexico, police who fatally shot Robert Dotson, 52, after responding to the wrong address for a domestic violence call. Dotson, who grabbed a handgun upon hearing a knock, was killed when he raised the weapon toward officers. The judge ruled that the officers reasonably applied deadly force and were entitled to qualified immunity.
