💨 Abstract
Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe, a Republican, announced he will call a special legislative session to discuss incentives to retain the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, whose stadium leases expire in 2031. The teams are considering a move to Kansas after Missouri lawmakers failed to pass a stadium financing plan. Kansas has already authorized significant funding for new stadiums. Missouri's House approved Kehoe’s bill, but the Senate adjourned without addressing it.
