A New York corrections officer, Nicholas Gentile, pleaded guilty to attempting to tamper with evidence after he cleaned up blood following the fatal beating of inmate Robert Brooks, which was captured on bodycam footage. Gentile was among ten guards indicted in connection with Brooks' death. He received a one-year conditional discharge, avoiding prison if he resigns and obeys the law.
