💨 Abstract
Oklahoma state officials announced a $4 billion deal with Emirates Global Aluminum to build the first new aluminum smelting facility in the U.S. in 45 years in northeast Oklahoma. The plant, with an annual capacity of about 600,000 tons of primary aluminum, is expected to create around 2,800 jobs. Construction is planned for over 350 acres at the Port of Inola, east of Tulsa.
