💨 Abstract
In 2010, workers at the World Trade Center site in Manhattan discovered timbers from a Revolutionary War-era boat, buried for over two centuries. Now, over 600 pieces are being reconstructed at the New York State Museum. The 50-foot vessel, likely a gunboat built in 1775 to defend Philadelphia, is being meticulously assembled. Researchers hypothesize it was used by the British and may have traveled to the Caribbean.
