Ukrainian journalist Vladyslav Yesypenko was released after over four years in Russian custody in Crimea. Arrested in 2021 on fabricated espionage and explosives charges, he faced torture and a reduced six-year sentence. His release was secured through efforts by the U.S. and Ukrainian governments, and he was freed shortly after another journalist, Ihar Karnei, was released from prison in Belarus.
