💨 Abstract
A Minneapolis-area man, Derrick John Thompson, was convicted of third-degree murder and vehicular homicide for a 2023 crash that killed five young women, aged 17 to 20. The crash was caused by speeding and running a red light, prosecutors stated. Thompson had a prior hit-and-run conviction and was separately convicted of drug and firearms charges linked to the crash.
