💨 Abstract
For the third consecutive year, Louisiana lawmakers rejected a bill allowing young rape victims under 17 to obtain abortions. The bill, proposed by Democratic Rep. Delisha Boyd, aimed to add rape exceptions to Louisiana's strict abortion ban. Opponents, including Democratic Rep. Patricia Moore, cited religious beliefs and personal experiences. The bill failed 3-9, with two Democrats joining Republicans.
