💨 Abstract
On the 36th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square killings in 2025, the Chinese government maintained strict control around the site, banning any public commemoration. Security was tight in Beijing, while Hong Kong's once-massive vigil was prohibited, reflecting a broader crackdown on dissent. Despite efforts to erase the event from public memory, the Tiananmen Mothers group continued to demand an independent investigation and justice.
