💨 Abstract
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran was shocked to see his undocumented immigrant father, Narciso Barranco, being beaten by Border Patrol officers during an arrest in Santa Ana, California. The incident drew widespread attention and protests. Narciso was refusing to comply with commands and wielded a weed trimmer. The Department of Homeland Security claimed the officers used necessary force, but Barranco’s son, also a Marine veteran, disagreed.
