💨 Abstract
In Oak Ridge, Tennessee, X-energy is developing advanced nuclear fuel, known as TRISO fuel, aiming to support a new era of nuclear power in the U.S. This fuel is designed to be robust and efficient, using uranium enriched to higher levels than current reactors. The U.S. plans to quadruple domestic nuclear power production by 2050, with new reactors potentially operational around 2030.
