Former U.S. George Santos is set to start a seven-year prison sentence for wire fraud and identity theft, used to fund his failed congressional campaign. Santos, who was ousted from Congress in 2023 after falsifying his career and personal history admitted to the federal charges. This comes after revelations of his dishonest campaign before indictment by federal prosecutors and ultimately forced resignation.
