💨 Abstract
Seasonal ocean swells have temporarily revealed ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs on Oahu's Waianae coast. These over two dozen human-like figures, dating back at least 500 years, are visible during low tide. Native Hawaiian cultural practitioner Glen Kila believes their resurfacing signals rising ocean levels. The U.S. Army, which manages the area, is working to protect the petroglyphs while allowing public access.
