💨 Abstract
On July 2, 2025, the first immigrants arrive at a new, controversial detention center in Florida's Everglades, dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz." The facility has a capacity for 3,000 detainees, extensive security, and is designed as a deterrent. Environmental groups and Native American tribes oppose it due to environmental concerns and cultural significance.
