💨 Abstract
In the D.C. region, a heat advisory is in effect with expected heat index values of 108 degrees. Meanwhile, in the Eastern Coachella Valley, many residents, predominantly low-income Latino and Indigenous farmworkers, lack access to safe drinking water. High levels of arsenic and distrust in tap water force them to rely on bought or donated water.
