💨 Abstract

NASA and India launched a joint Earth-mapping satellite, NISAR, to track even minor changes in land and ice. The $1.3 billion mission aims to help forecasters and first responders anticipate floods, landslides, volcanic eruptions, and other disasters. The satellite's dual radars will operate day and night, providing detailed data on shifting groundwater, melting glaciers, land motion, and forest disruptions. NASA contributed $1.2
