💨 Abstract
The Miccosukee Tribe, whose ancestral lands include the Everglades, wants to join a lawsuit against the construction of the new immigration detention facility. The project, nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz” by state officials, was built quickly by Governor Ron DeSantis’ administration in the Big Cypress National Preserve. The tribe, along with environmental groups, argues that the project requires a thorough environmental review and public input.
