An appeals court has refused to extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for thousands of Afghans in the U.S., ending their protection from deportation. The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals denied a postponement, stating there was insufficient evidence. TPS for Afghans ended July 14; the court had briefly extended it.
