💨 Abstract
The Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down the state's 176-year-old abortion ban in a 4-3 decision. The ban, adopted in 1849, was reactivated following the U.S. Supreme Court's 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The court ruled that the ban was superseded by a newer state law that criminalizes abortions only after fetal viability.
