💨 Abstract
The Krasheninnikov volcano on Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula erupted overnight on August 3, 2025, marking its first eruption in roughly 475-600 years. The volcano emitted a 6-kilometer ash plume and was accompanied by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami warning, which was later lifted. The eruption followed an 8.8 magnitude earthquake on August 1.
