💨 Abstract
A Brooklyn construction magnate, Erden Arkan, was sentenced to a year of probation for helping New York City Mayor Eric Adams obtain illegal campaign contributions. Arkan, 76, admitted to a straw donor scheme in Adams' 2021 mayoral campaign, which helped Adams fraudulently secure public funds. The judge, citing Arkan's age and clean record, spared him prison time.
