💨 Abstract

Prosecutors in Minnesota have revealed that up to half of the $18 billion in federal funds allocated to 14 state-run programs since 2018 may have been stolen through fraud. The investigation, which began with the Feeding Our Future scam in 2022, has expanded to include various programs like child nutrition and housing services. The majority of the 92 defendants charged so far are Somali Americans, leading to political and cultural tensions.
