💨 Abstract

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced plans to suspend the Diversity Visa (DV1) program, which allows certain individuals to enter the U.S., following a shooting at Brown University by a green card holder who entered via this program. Secretary Kristi Noem ordered the suspension, citing security concerns. The suspect, Claudio Neves Valente, a Portuguese national, was found dead.
