💨 Abstract
The University of Memphis' athletic department has been placed on two-year probation and fined $30,000 by the NCAA after an academic counselor was found to have paid two softball players to assist a men's basketball player with schoolwork. The players competed in 20 games while ineligible. Memphis was also docked 1% of the combined budget of the men’s basketball and softball programs.
