💨 Abstract

A judge in Georgia granted bail to Ximena Arias Cristóbal, a 19-year-old wrongfully detained by immigration authorities. The bail was set at $1,500, the minimum possible under the law. Ximena, brought to the U.S. from Mexico at age four, was mistakenly detained for a traffic violation. Her family will pay the bail, and she will reunite with them soon. Despite the bail, she still faces potential deportation.
