💨 Abstract
The Argentine government has increased funding for the country's intelligence agency, SIDE, with 25 billion pesos allocated, 8 billion of which are for unregulated spending. Former intelligence chief Miguel Ángel Toma notes that despite the secrecy, congressional oversight should ensure accountability. He warns against leaks of the National Intelligence Plan, as exposure endangers national security and foreign relations, stressing that preservation of such information is crucial. Toma also emphasizes the urgent need to rebuild the country's strained intelligence infrastructure.
