💨 Abstract
The former President of Ecuador, Alfredo Palacio, passed away at 86 in Guayaquil. Palacios, who previously served as vice president and health minister was noted for his hospitality and help to hundreds of patients. When Lucio Gutiérrez, the then president of Ecuador, was ousted in a popular uprising known as “La Rebelion de los Forajidos” Palacio was appointed president. During his presidency, Palacio appointed Rafael Correa as the Minister of Economy.
