💨 Abstract
On May 18, 2025, the Mexican naval training ship Cuauhtémoc collided with the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, killing two crew members and injuring over a dozen. The ship was heading in the wrong direction due to a suspected mechanical failure, strong currents, and high winds. The NTSB is investigating the incident, which has raised concerns about bridge safety and maritime procedures.
