💨 Abstract

In a significant move to enhance U.S. nuclear energy infrastructure, President Donald Trump signed four executive orders on May 23, 2025. These orders aim to expedite nuclear reactor testing, enable the Energy and Defense Departments to build nuclear reactors on federal land, streamline the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and boost domestic uranium mining and enrichment. Concurrently, Trump signed an order to re-affirm "gold standard" science practices despite federal research budget cuts.
