💨 Abstract

An armaodium salamander called the axolotl, known for regenerating lost limbs, has provided scientists with key insights. Researchers found that retinoic acid, commonly used in acne treatments, signals which body parts to regenerate. While humans lose this ability during embryonic development, studying retinoic acid signaling in axolotls could lead to new healing methods and gene therapies for humans.
