The U.S. Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, announced that NATO allies will commit to spending 5% of their GDP on defense, aiming to finalize this before the July summit in The Hague. Hegseth emphasized the need for NATO to maintain combat readiness. Meanwhile, Sweden's Defense Minister, Pal Jonson, suggested achieving this goal by 2030. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also highlighted the importance of agreeing on capability targets to determine defense spending.
