💨 Abstract

The ultranationalist Party for Freedom (PVV) led by Geert Wilders withdrew from the Dutch government over asylum policies. Wilders, known for his anti-Islamic and anti-immigrant rhetoric, accused the coalition of not being strict enough on asylum seekers, despite the minister of Asylum and Migration belonging to his party. This move is likely to trigger new elections, as the coalition governing the country, the most right-wing in Dutch history, has collapsed.
