💨 Abstract

The remnants of Hurricane Erick caused torrential rains and flooding in southern Mexico. The storm, which made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane, triggered landslides, power outages, and at least one fatality. Residents in Acapulco and Puerto Escondido are dealing with debris and clearing blocked highways. Authorities are concerned about continuing rains and potential further flooding.
