💨 Abstract
A Chilean appellate judge issued the first charges related to the illegal removal of children during Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship in the 1970s and 1990s. Five individuals, including one sought for extradition from Israel, were accused of forming a network to illegally adopt children from impoverished mothers and place them with foreign couples for fees up to $50,000.
