💨 Abstract
Greenpeace activists took a statue of French President Emmanuel Macron and placed it outside the Russian embassy in Paris to protest France's ongoing trade with Russia and Macron's climate policies. The statue, borrowed from the Musée Grévin, was positioned with signs criticizing continued trade in gas, nuclear energy, and chemicals, despite European promises to reduce reliance on Russian energy. France was noted as the EU's top importer of Russian fossil fuels in January 2025.
