💨 Abstract

Recent studies suggest a lower probability of a collision between the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies, known as "Milkomeda," initially expected in about 4.5 billion years. New simulations accounting for gravitational influences from nearby smaller galaxies, like the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) and M33, indicate only a 50% chance of a collision in the next 10 billion years.
