💨 Abstract
In a report presented in 2025, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) warns that non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health issues will cause significant economic losses in South America over the next three decades, equivalent to 4% of the region's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). These losses are projected from 2020 to 2050.
