💨 Abstract
A broad area of rain and storms off Florida's east coast may develop into a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico by midweek. This system could bring significant rainfall and flooding risks to Florida and the northern Central Gulf Coast, including Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. The potential storm, if it develops into a named storm, would be called Dexter. Current conditions suggest a moderate chance of development, with warm waters and high humidity fueling the potential storm.
