💨 Abstract
The U.S. government announced it will end the deployment of 2,000 National Guard members in Los Angeles, with approximately 4,000 members and 700 marines still in the region. The deployment, ordered by President Trump in June to respond to immigration protests, was opposed by Governor Gavin Newsom. The National Guard's task was to protect federal buildings and support immigration agents.
