💨 Abstract
The Brazilian Office of the Attorney General has petitioned for the conviction of former President Jair Bolsonaro and seven of his former associates on charges of attempting a coup d'état. The charges stem from an incident on January 8, 2023, when Bolsonaro supporters stormed Brasilia's Three Powers Plaza allegedly to overturn the 2022 election results.
